EDGUY ON TOUR WITH THE SCORPIONS

EDGUY will support the SCORPIONS as special guest on their upcoming tour of Germany.

Frontman Tobias Sammet comments:
“It is a real big honour for us to have been invited by the biggest German Rockband ever to be the special guest on their German tour. The SCORPIONS have paved the way for all German bands, no matter if some bands want to admit it or not. They were the first band to break into all international markets with a bang and they underlined their larger-than-life status with countless great albums, mega hits and amazing shows. I will always remember a common show we played in Bulgaria when I was watching their entire set from the side of the stage and how impressed I was by their energy and enthusiasm for playing. I was honoured and impressed by Klaus’ vocal performance when he recorded some guest vocals for my forthcoming AVANTASIA album. He is one of the best and most unique Rock singers the world will ever see. From a fan’s point of view it fills us with sadness to know that this will be the last chance for us to share the stage but as a band we feel honoured and we are looking forward to celebrating with them on their farewell tour and share the stage one last time. EDGUY RETURN TO THE UK

The tour booking agency of Edguy has just confirmed Edguy's return to the UK in 2010. As there were only two England shows on their "Tinnitus Sanctus World Tour 2009" Edguy will tour England and Scotland again in March. So far confirmed dates read like that:

EDGUY TO PLAY WACKEN 2010

In 2010 Edguy's priority will be the production of a new album and very few shows will be played in between the song writing and recording sessions only. One of those rare shows of 2010 will be played between August 5th and August 7th at the prestigious Wacken Open Air which the band has played a couple of times already, in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2005.

But before we make our plans for next year make sure you don't miss Edguy's last show in 2009; December 12th. The Knock Out Festival will be Edguy's first show in Karlsruhe since their tour with Aerosmith almost three years ago. Be there!!!

SAVAGE UNION – FANCLUB ANNIVERSARY IN FULDA

Edguy’s official fanclub “Savage Union” is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. For this reason fan club president Marion Haupt organized a party for all fan club and band members in Edguy’s home town Fulda yesterday, October 24th, to give fans and band the chance to meet each other, take photos, sign stuff and just have a great time. The band wants to thank all fan club members and of course Marion Haupt (and Alex for his patience...) for all the support, all the work, all the loyalty:

EDGUY LIVE ON i-MUSIC-TV

In November 2006 Edguy headed to South America to bring their giant "Rocket Ride" stage show to Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico. The South American leg of the tour was part of a colossal world tour that started on January 27th 2006 in  Manchester England and ended after 109 shows in Asia, Europe, the USA, Canada and South America in Hollywood's infamous Key Club on Sunset Boulevard on October 26th, 2008.

During the tour Edguy shot a film document featuring the live concert in Sao Paulo on November 3rd, 2006 and a road documentary, which has been released as a DVD set called "Fucking With Fire - Live". The concert you can see on that DVD will be broadcast in its entirety on October 25th at 23:00 (1st half) and November 1st at 23:00 (2nd half)
 on i-Music-TV.

EDGUY RETURN FROM NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

Edguy have just returned from the North American leg of the Tinnitus Sanctus Tour 2009. The band wants to thank their fans in Canada and the USA for making another adventurous trek a joyful and successful venture. The band will have some rest now while working on refurbishing the website, before they will celebrate the end of their European tour 2009 on December 12th with a headlining show at Knock-Out Festival, Europahalle Karlsruhe with their friends of HammerFall before they will set off to Australia and Tasmania in December to play a short tour in Tasmania.

Meanwhile Tobias will continue work on his super epic Rock Opera "Avantasia" which is going to feature many guest stars and friends of Tobias, current and former members of KISS, Masterplan, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Helloween, Magnum, Edguy and many more. Excerpts from the tour diary:  "Today we have been on a whaling cruise. Everybody just one harpoon, if seven shots miss you get a penalty point, so it says eight attempts on your little form and you move on to the next species. Like in miniature golf. Felix was hung over and even missed the humpback, which equals the first hole in miniature golf. We have just received the confirmation that Rock City Open Air in Romania has been postponed by the local concert promoter. It is said to be rescheduled in October and if that happens Edguy's booking agency All Access have said that they will try to make it possible for the crowd in Romania to have Edguy play their headliner show then, but it can not be confirmed at this point. TOBIAS JOINING "LEGENDS OF ROCK"

On Sunday June 7th Tobias will join his mate Uli Jon Roth's (ex-Scorpions) "Legends Of Rock" at Stazione Birra in Rome to raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in the region of the city of L'Aquila, which was largely destroyed. Tobias will share the stage with a variety of artists including Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray, ex-Helloween), Richie Kotzen (Mr. Big, Poison), Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Kee Marcello (ex-Europe), and various other artists.

"A few weeks ago Uli called me asking if I'd be available for a charity gig to raise funds for the numerous victims of that terrible asshole of earthquake. Well, that was not exactly what he said, but pretty much the quintessence. I have a terribly stressful schedule this year and at first I thought that it wouldn't really fit in my schedule. But then: This earthquake didn't really fit in anyone's schedule, and it was so terrible and brought so much pain to so many families. So, let's all go to Rome and have a great night, we'll jam a little, I'll sing songs I have never ever sung in my whole life and we'll have a good time - for a great purpose. We'll help those who desperately need it!!!"

WACKEN ROCKS AND SAARBRÜCKEN POSTPONED

Wacken-Rocks-Festivals in Aurich and Rieden/Kreuth have been postponed by the festival promoters due to legal reasons. Edguy was originally scheduled to enter the stage May 22nd and 23rd. Wacken Rocks will now take place on the last weekend of August 2009. The Saarbruecken show of Edguy is also postponed to the 27th of August. The band apologizes although the decision was completely beyond their control.

FUCKING WITH FIRE - THE DVD

On May 2nd Edguy will release their long awaited first official Live-DVD called “Fucking With Fire – Live”. 

About three years ago: on January 27th, 2006 in Manchester, England EDGUY set off on what would become the longest tour in their career to date: the Rocket Ride World Tour 2006-2008. By the time the tour was over the band had played in 31 countries and in front of more than 500,000 fans all across Asia, Europe and North & South America.

The DVD documents one full concert filmed and recorded on the 3rd of November 2006 in Sao Paulo, Brazil in front of more than 5,000 Edguy maniacs. Additionally, you can also have a look "behind the scenes" of an Edguy tour as there is also a road documentary with interviews from all the band members looking back on the giant trip & tour. Also included as a bonus-feature is a complete set of all the music videos the band have shot during their Nuclear Blast years. “Fucking With Fire - Live” is available on Double-CD, DVD or a boxset featuring both. STATEMENT ABOUT “ARGENTINA-INCIDENT”

There was no vandalism on stage! The truth is that Tobias indeed was pissed off about the dysfunctional monitor system on stage and after trying to get it fixed finally threw the wedges into the photo pit. Nobody got hurt, nothing got damaged, except from the wedges that – due to the band had been already “damaged at that point”. Tobias explains: “I do not apologize as I did what everybody would have done, we are a Rock’n’Roll band, nobody got beaten up, nobody got hurt, I just threw a few fucking speakers around, that were crap anyway. I don’t know why people don’t stop to write shit about it, The Who wrecked whole venues, so who am I to ask for permission to remove some dysfunctional electronic garbage?”

SUPPORT ACT FOR UPCOMING SHOWS!

H.E.A.T. and All Ends will not be the support act for the forthcoming shows, they got off the bus at their Swedish home. Support act for the forthcoming shows will be Avantasia-guitarist Oliver Hartmann with his band Hartmann. In Fulda there'll be a special guest, the band FATRO will play in addition to Olli Hartmann. Some people will remember Oliver from his glorious days as the lead singer of the Charlie Wiegand Band.

PRAGUE SHOW SOLD OUT

Just like the Fulda show on Friday 7th, the Prague show at the Roxy on Feb 8th is sold out as well, whereas there are few more tickets available for the Bratislava show. Anyone in Germany who wants to see Edguy has the chance to catch them at their rescheduled shows in Cologne and Oberhausen on February 11th and 12th. EDGUY TOUR ROLLING AGAIN

Good news from the Edguy camp. After having to postpone two shows on the current tour due to a flu, vocalist Tobias is back on track and the tour will continue in Osnabrueck as scheduled. The two postponed dates in Oberhausen and Cologne have been rescheduled for Feb 11 (Cologne) and Feb 12 (Oberhausen). Tickets for the original dates are valid for the postponed dates of course.

OBERHAUSEN & COLOGNE SHOWS RESCHEDULED

Due to a flu of singer Tobias the shows in Oberhausen and Cologne can not be played as scheduled. Tobias is slowly starting to feel a little better but will not be able to perform the Cologne show as well. The shows have now been rescheduled for February 11th (Cologne) and February 12th (Oberhausen). Tickets for the original shows will be valid for the reschuled dates of course.

TOBIAS ON THE UNITED STATES

I've just been told that I might have said something that pissed some people off, some comment about the USA that I made in an interview. I don’t get it at all: I never said that I hate the USA, it’s a great country and I have a lot of friends in the USA and I feel it is disrespectful to them to say that I hate the whole fucking country and the great people I’ve met there. Don’t misuse my statements!!! Like in every country I think a lot of things go wrong there, I just said that I don’t wanna live over there. So, what’s the point??? I just wanna live at home, in good old Germany. I don’t know why people are so aggressive when it comes to honest statements, I was asked questions in an interview and I replied honestly.

This was not meant to be a political statement. If some asshole wants to misuse my statements for some racist purpose, I get fucking mad. I've been told that people started to discuss about the second world war, about immigrants, about black people... People: This is Rock N Roll!!!! There is no place for racism in my life! We are one fucking world!!! America, Russia, Australia, Europe... I love aspects of Amercia and I love aspects of Brazil, Germany, any country... We are one fucking world. If you misuse my statement for a racists issue: FUCK YOU!!! Now go hug each other! This music is meant to make people come together, not the opposite!!! -Tobias

SIGNING SESSIONS & RADIO SHOWS!

For the release of their new album "Tinnitus Sanctus" (out on November 14th) Edguy will embark on a radio and signing session tour in Germany. On November, 7th they were already in Munich at Radio Rockantenne to play 6 songs live in the studio. Originally meant to be just a little accoustic show, the band asked to play fully amplified all amps on ten in front of 30 winners of a competition in the conference room of the radio station. The show will be broadcast Tuesday, November 11th on Rockantenne.

The new album "Tinnitus Sanctus" will be released on November 14th. Due to first press reactions Edguy's best album to date will come in a limited Special edition. The first CDs will come in a double Digipak with a bonus CD "Edguy - Live in Los Angeles" which was recorded on their Rocket Ride World Tour. Also available are a limited numbers of double vinyls.
